ARIC Business Development Initiative in Hong Kong

The Australian Rail Industry is planning a Business Development initiative into Hong Kong.

The current plan is to combine the previous rail industry cluster market analysis work focussing on opportunities in Hong Kong with the Federal Government Rail Supplier Advocate plans for a benchmarking initiative into mainland China.

Through the outcomes of the Hong Kong Export Project Plan commissioned by Austrade to support the activities of the ARIC cluster companies will travel to China and Hong Kong in February and March 2011. For more information contact aric@aric.com.au.

ARIC Update

It has now been 18 months since the establishment of Service Agreement between ARIC Austrade and ARA and this period has seen significant improvement in the environment for rail suppliers and the next five years holds even greater promise.   The 2011 year sees the appointment of a new ARIC Chair and some new faces on the ARIC Board, listed here is the full ARIC Board Membership and roles:-

Mike Austin, Chairman; Bryan Pieper, Deputy Chair; Geoff Geist and James McLeod, Audit and Risk Committee; Steve Boshier, Director; Bryan Nye, Director; Alan Burns, Director; Bill Hartman, Director; Rob Boulger, Director; David Evans, Director; Dale Coleman, Director; Garry Whiting, Company Secretary; Phil Bourke, Austrade Observer.  The new Board has embraced a new vision for the ARIC organisation and is aggressively pursuing a stronger business environment for small to medium sized enterprises in the rail industry.
